Introduction:

Emphysema is a lung disease that makes it difficult to breathe. There is no cure for emphysema, but there are treatments that can help make breathing easier. One such treatment is using a respiratory device.

A respiratory device is a machine that helps you breathe by providing oxygen to your lungs. Many respiratory devices are suited for different types of emphysema. This article will discuss the different types of respiratory devices and how they can be used to treat emphysema.

The Different Types of Devices

Many respiratory devices like air physio are suited for different types of emphysema. The most common respiratory devices are oxygen tanks, CPAP machines, and BiPAP machines.

Oxygen tanks provide oxygen to people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). COPD is a type of emphysema that causes difficulty breathing.

Oxygen tanks come in two different sizes: small tanks and large tanks. Small tanks are about the size of a water bottle, and large tanks are about the size of a suitcase. Most oxygen tanks have a duration of 6-8 hours, which means they will last for 6-8 hours before needing to be refilled.

CPAP machines are used to treat sleep apnea, a condition that causes pauses in breathing during sleep. Sleep apnea can lead to snoring, morning headaches, and high blood pressure. CPAP machines deliver pressurized air through a mask that covers the nose and mouth. This air keeps the airways open and prevents pauses in breathing.

CPAP machines come in two different sizes: standard CPAP machines and auto-titrating CPAP machines. Standard CPAP machines deliver a fixed pressure level, while auto-titrating CPAP machines automatically adjust the pressure level based on the patient’s needs.

BiPAP machines are also used to treat sleep apnea. BiPAP stands for “bilevel positive airway pressure.”

IPAP is the air pressure delivered during inhalation, and EPAP is the air pressure delivered during exhalation. BiPAP machines come in two sizes: standard BiPAP machines and auto-titrating BiPAP machines.
